When the winter season arrives and the weather changes, it can be difficult to know which horse rug you need when it’s raining, snowing or windy.

Every horse has different needs and there are a range of factors to consider when rugging, including your horse’s age, breed and living environment.

To help you choose the right level of warmth and weather protection, this handy temperature guide offers a great place to start.

This temperature guide should only be used as a guide as the needs of horses can differ. Remember, over or under rugging can affect your horse’s comfort, so it’s important to regularly check their body temperature.

Adjust the level of warmth with the Tempest WarmaRug

The Tempest WarmaRug Liners provides an easy way to add or remove a layer of warmth under your horse’s stable and turnout rugs. Perfect for when the temperatures change, they bring excellent versatility and can help reduce the number of rugs you need.

How to use a horse rug liner

The Tempest WarmaRug Rug Liners are designed with a shorter cut that prevents them hanging below an outer rug.

The liners come with touch close straps either side of the shoulders and these can be secured to standard neck outer rugs to prevent exposing the liner to rain. There are also snap clips at the rear of the liner which can be attached to rear D-rings of an outer rug.

Available with a 100g or 200g fill and compatible with any Highlander or Tempest stable or turnout rug.
